School Philosophy

We, the Pastor, principal, faculty, staff, school board and parents of Mary Immaculate Queen School are committed to provide an instructional environment which will encourage our students to develop spiritually, intellectually, sociologically and physiologically to fill their full potential. We focus on the formation of true Christian values while recognizing the freedom and dignity of the child as a person. We acknowledge the responsibility of parents as primary educators and teachers as facilitators of learning. We also recognize that the family, the parish and the community affect the student's complete development.

Rich Heritage

Mary Immaculate Queen School, a non-profit institution, began educating students in 1959. MIQ is located at 884 N. Lemoore Ave, Lemoore, CA. and is the parochial school for St. Peter's Parish, in the Diocese of Fresno..  Msgr. James O'Doherty, our Founder, placed the school in the hands of our heavenly Mother, Mary Immaculate Queen. The school was staffed and administered by the Sisters of Mercy from Ennis, Ireland, through the 1990-1991 school year. The Carmelite Sisters from India, began their ministry the 1991-1992 school year. The Carmelite Sisters were called to assist in communities in more need of their services and MIQ is now staffed by caring, talented and dedicated lay persons.

Principal, Ms. Rachael Manzo

Rachael Manzo brings a wealth of experience to Mary Immaculate School. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Education and multiple subject teaching credential from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California, she returned to her hometown of Santa Barbara to teach Theology and Student Government at Bishop Garcia Diego High School. During her years at Bishop Diego Rachael held various roles including Assistant to the Head of School, Student Activities Director, Head Cheer Coach, and most recently was the Director of Alumni Relations working on the Advancement team focusing on enrollment growth, fiscal development, and relationship building with those who have graduated from the institution. Having her sights set on being a principal, Rachael returned to school and graduated with a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership. As a dedicated leader, Rachael brings a strong connection to her faith and passion for Christ. She believes that it is critical for the next leader to focus not only on academic excellence, but also on building community and communication with all stakeholders.
Rachael was attracted to Mary Immaculate Queen School for its “academic excellence, deep rooted history, thriving parish community, familial atmosphere, and countless opportunities to educate the whole child.” Rachael clearly understands the mission of MIQ and embraces its core values, traditions and potential for growth. She is eager to devote her whole heart into working with the MIQ community to continue to build on the school’s extraordinary heritage and aspirations for the future.
Once school begins, Rachael can be found on the playground at MIQ during lunch periods or in her office, which is always open. If she's not on campus, it is most likely after-hours and she is probably walking her dog Luna or cooking! Rachael is one of six children and maintains strong relationships with her family back in Santa Barbara. She also looks forward to exploring Lemoore and building new relationships!

Mary Immaculate Queen School is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
